Election Action Resources

Not sure what’s on the ballot?

Here is a list of ways you can get involved, locally, state-wide and nationally.

Donate and Volunteer Locally:

  • Ballot Measures: As usual, there a ton of major propositions including affordable housing, state props for affordable housing, climate change, and rollbacks to progress on criminal justice reform, to name a few. LA Forward will be working on Measure A in particular, a huge step to address our housing/homelessness crises and prevent homelessness from skyrocketing.

  • Federal races: CA Congressional races to watch in CA include Derek Tran and George Whitesides

  • State: California may be blue but we have a ton of bad Dems in the legislature and we need better ones. Help elect progressive Dems like Sade Elhawary (South Central), John Yi (Ktown, DTLA, Eastside, Montebello), Michelle Chambers (South LA/South Bay/Harbor)

  • County: At the County level, you can help stop a Republican from becoming District Attorney by supporting George Gascon.

  • LA City: In LA City, Defeat Kevin De Leon by helping to elect Ysabel Jurado for CD14. And Jillian Burgos for CD2 will build the progressive majority we need on Council.

If you care most about national politics, there’s lots of ways to be involved. The Harris-Walz has an incredible amount of money (they raised $500 million during the last month)... there is still a big funding gap for the ground game – the ecosystem of community-based organizations who will be persuading voters in the tiny margins that will make or break the upcoming election – and those in years to come. This November is key, but we need to be building power that lasts well beyond a single election.

Donate to community groups turning out the vote in key districts:

We also need to flip key state legislatures so Republicans can’t try to steal the Presidential elections and so we can advance abortion access, civil rights, economic justice, fight climate change, and so much more for hundreds of millions of Americans.

Volunteer in Key Districts & States

This list is by no means exhaustive. There are so many important races, including city council races from Santa Monica and Culver City, to Burbank, Alhambra, Claremont, Pomona and more!
