LA Forward is proud to be the home for two of LA County’s most interesting and important civic affairs podcasts — “LA Podcast” and “What Next, Los Angeles? with Mike Bonin”!
LA Podcast is a news podcast for people who live in Los Angeles.
“LA Pod,” as it’s known, began as casual weekly podcast which covers the news, policies, and major issues facing Los Angeles, a city which is both staggeringly complex and culturally oversimplified. Initially a two-person show featuring Hayes Davenport and Scott Frazier, it evolved over time to feature Alissa Walker and then Rachel Reyes as regular hosts.
LA Forward is excited to welcome LA Podcast to its family of organizations, as part of our mission to demystify local politics and help you hold elected officials accountable for creating a fair, flourishing region for everyone who lives here. After a long hiatus, we’re proud to help ensure LA Podcast episodes are being regularly produced. Expect to hear new episodes more frequently with a rotating cast of co-hosts, including veterans of LA Pod like Alissa and Rachel and a whole bunch of new voices, including Mike Bonin.
Check out our re-launch episode, “October Surprise,” featuring Alissa, Rachel, and Mike, plus David Levitus and Godfrey Plata from LA Forward. The episode covers what’s on your ballot – the key local races, a slew of state props, and very consequential county and city measures. Listen online or wherever you get your podcasts. Don’t forget to subscribe for upcoming episodes!
LA Forward Presents What's Next Los Angeles? With Mike Bonin
LA Forward has also teamed up with Mike Bonin’s podcast, What’s Next, Los Angeles? On WNLA, Mike Bonin – a writer, teacher, progressive activist and former LA City Councilmember – looks at the issues and problems facing Los Angeles, examines ideas, and talks with the people who will lead us to a brighter future.
