CD5 Organizing Meeting (Virtual)

In January, residents of LA’s City Council District 5 kicked off an organizing process that aims to set them up for an initial meeting with Councilmember Katy Young Yaroslavsky in March, highlighting key priorities for her attention and identifying more strategic opportunities for the group's advocacy efforts. In particular, the group gravitated toward three key areas of focus for CD-5 organizing and advocacy: HOUSING/HOMELESSNESS; CLIMATE; and PUBLIC TRANSIT.

This February Zoom meeting builds on January’s conversations. All CD-5 community members are welcome to engage, particularly those interested in learning how to translate their lived experiences into real policy change, alongside their neighbors.

A majority of our budget comes from our members’ monthly donations. In 2024, our goal is to raise 70% of our budget from dues-paying members. That will enable us to be 100% accountable to people like you. Your gift allows us to respond rapidly to emerging issues, to take on powerful interests, and spend as little time possible on fundraising so we can focus on the crucial work that needs to get done every day.
