Summer Organizing Kickoff

Join us for our summer organizing gathering and big kickoff for the general election and the rest of the year! We’ll be gathering outdoors in Westside backyard near Pico Blvd and the Rancho Park Expo Line stop. Address provided after RSVPing.

On the agenda:

  • Check-in with each other in the midst of lots of local/national current events.

  • Preview the progressive wins on the general election ballot, and the challenges we'll have to overcome to get those wins.

  • Dive into United to House LA, the city-wide effort to win hundreds of millions of dollars EVERY YEAR to house the unhoused, protect tenants, and ensure housing is affordable.

  • Hear from an expert with Venice Community Housing which is on the frontlines of building affordable housing and proving supportive housing to people who’ve been on the streets.

We expect everyone who attends to have been fully vaccinated and to have no covid-like symptoms, and to test negative on a rapid test before arriving.

August Backyard Gathering

A majority of our budget comes from our members’ monthly donations. In 2024, our goal is to raise 70% of our budget from dues-paying members. That will enable us to be 100% accountable to people like you. Your gift allows us to respond rapidly to emerging issues, to take on powerful interests, and spend as little time possible on fundraising so we can focus on the crucial work that needs to get done every day.
